Playa del Carmen will enjoy once again of the already famous Riviera Maya Jazz Festival from November 30th to Sunday December 2nd, taking place at Mamita’s Beach Club.
Celebrating its 16th edition, as every year the festival brings together both solo artists as well as national and international bands, which will fill the atmosphere with captivating melodies in one of the most important tourist destinations such as Playa del Carmen.
We share the Line up of the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival 2018:
Friday November 30: Kike Pat, artist from the beautiful island of Cozumel in conjunction with Lori Williams and composer Bob Baldwin, from Washington and New York respectively, will present a unique blend of Latin and African rhythms. Later the same day, Bebel Gilberto and a modern version of bossa nova and electronic beats with Brazilian touches will make us end a good day.
Saturday December 1: The North American band Mr. Drew Tucker and The New Standard will start with a contemporary show, followed by the singer Cristina Morrison, who will combine theatrical elements to the presentation. In the same way the Mexican guitarist Paco Rosas presents his project based in blues. And to end the evening, the presentation of Norah Jones, winner of 9 Grammy awards and more than 47 million albums sold around the world.
Sunday December 2: Pepé Hernández, Mexican bassist opens the show with his funk project, to give way to Lalah Hathaway, 5 times Grammy winner. To close the festival with a flourish, Bobby Mc Ferrin, a 10-time Grammy winner, promises to give a unique presentation, after his interrupted show by the rain in the 2017 edition.
Year after year the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival attracts around 18 thousand people, and it is expected that the figure in this 2018 edition will be higher. Also, it is worth noting that the festival promotes the environmental education, working hard to keep clean the beautiful beaches of the area throughout the festival, raising awareness among the attendees.
